Financial Crime Compliance Consultant

RiskCap is seeking a ‘Financial Crime Compliance Consultant’ to join its ever-growing compliance team that is providing compliance services to a portfolio of international clients in Malta.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Compliance and the Managing Director to provide day-to-day support in the development, implementation and maintenance of financial crime compliance programs for a variety of clients including, but not limited to, Fund Managers, Funds, MiFID and Financial Institutions;
  • Assist with the development and implementation of AML/CFT policies and procedures-ensure compliance policies and procedures are effectively communicated to client, in accordance with the client’s regulatory requirements;
  • Monitor and interpret new AML/CFT regulations which could impact clients;
  • Monitor FIAU and MFSA circulars etc. to follow up with clients;
  • Assist with the drafting of quarterly MLRO reports;
  • Assist with the drafting of Business Risk Assessment;
  • Assist with the drafting of Risk Evaluation Questionnaire;
  • Assist with compliance monitoring and testing;
  • Assist regulators during their onsite visits;
  • Carry out AML/CFT training to staff and clients; and
  • Act as RiskCap’s MLRO and to clients.

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Be in possession of a tertiary degree or professional qualification related to law, banking and finance and investment services;
  • An understanding of the role of the MLRO, the financial crime compliance program development and its maintenance;
  • An understanding of the role of the money laundering reporting officer, REQ, BRA, CRA, financial crime compliance program development and its maintenance;
  • Ability to think critically to efficiently and effectively provide solutions to regulatory issues;
  • Possess good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Strong, independent self –starter, as well as be capable to work in a team; and
  • Strong research and time management skills;

Regulatory Compliance Consultant

RiskCap is seeking a ‘Regulatory Compliance Consultant’ to join its ever-growing compliance team that is providing compliance services to a portfolio of international clients in Malta.

  • An understanding of the role of the compliance officer, the compliance program development and its maintenance;
  • An understanding of the role of the money laundering reporting officer, REQ, BRA, CRA, financial crime compliance program development and its maintenance;
  • An understanding of laws and regulations and their application particularly, AIFMD, UCITS, MIFID, PSD, AML, and GDPR.
  • Ability to think critically to efficiently and effectively provide solutions to regulatory issues;
  • Possess good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Strong, independent self –starter, as well as be capable to work in a team; and

Manager – CoSec and Corporate Governance

RiskCap is seeking a ‘Manager – CoSec and Corporate Governance’ to oversee the RiskCap’s secretarial and corporate governance services. The individual will report directly to the Managing Director and be responsible for further developing and implementing the objectives of good corporate governance within the portfolio of companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships within the Chairpersons, Managing Directors and Directors;
  • Keeping of registers and records and the filing of returns and documents with the MBR;
  • Attend the general meetings of the shareholders and the board meetings (of the directors), to send the notices pertaining to such meetings in advance, and in the correct manner, making sure that whoever is entitled to receive such notices does so;
  • To prepare documentation relating to board and shareholder meetings;
  • To take minutes during the board and shareholder meetings and subsequently circulate them;
  • Assist with the incorporation of the new group companies or changes to existing company structures;
  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation and takes appropriate action; and
  • Ensure that meetings are conducted in accordance with the MBR, MFSA and Cayman regulations.

Experience and Skills:

  • The candidate will have proven experience as a company secretary in Malta;
  • Having a legal background would be considered an asset;
  • Extensive background experience within corporate governance;
  • A good understanding of Malta corporate and financial regulations;
  • A strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines;
  • Excellent leadership and management skills;
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • You will also hold an unquestionable personal code of ethics, integrity and trust; and
  • A high level of English and other languages would also be considered an asset.

Risk Associate

RiskCap is seeking a ‘Risk Associate’ to work within its risk services team that is providing its services to a portfolio of clients in Malta and internationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Risk with the implementation of risk management frameworks;
  • Provide analysis on different classes in order to understand key risks to be communicated with senior management;
  • Monitor investment restrictions on a regular basis;
  • Assist with the analysis for escalation senior management;
  • Prepare and draft risk reports covering market risk, counterparty risk, and liquidity risk;
  • Communicate the risk exposures and maintain relationships with senior management; and
  • Contribute to helping clients minimize or eliminate financial risks that could be detrimental towards their business goals;

Experience and Skills:

  • Have an academic qualification in Banking, Risk, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or relevant field of study;
  • Be a strong team player;
  • Have the ability to multi-task, meet strict deadlines and produce high-quality work;
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Have excellent financial analysis skills with advanced Microsoft Excel;
  • Be fluent in financial industry practices and professional standards;
  • Have knowledge of EU and local regulations is considered an asset;
  • Have the ability to listen actively and to work on one’s initiative as necessary; and
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
